Workamper FAQs
Doing ANY kind of work while living in an RV.
Workampers are folks of all ages and from all walks of life who do all kinds of work while traveling in their RVs.
You name it! The answer to this question changes daily, as new and exciting opportunities come in from all kinds of employers all around the United States. However, the majority of jobs are in the outdoor hospitality industry - RV parks, campgrounds, resorts, state & national parks, and the like.
The most common positions are camp hosts, park managers, activities directors, housekeepers, groundskeepers, maintenance workers, and caretakers.
On any given weekday, we typically see anywhere from 5-50 new help wanted ads posted on our site. Job listings posted on our site aren’t typically for just one job - more often than not, Employers are seeking help in many different areas of their business so it’s hard to determine an exact number. All we can say is it’s a bunch.
Compensation is as varied as the jobs. Some may only provide an RV site in trade for a certain number of hours. Many pay for all hours worked and provide an RV site. Others provide perks, bonuses, commissions, health insurance, and even retirement benefits depending on the employer. We see wages ranging anywhere from minimum wage up to $27/hr, or more.
While we do have some Employer members who offer positions that can be done anywhere, most opportunities advertised to the Workamping community are on-location, in-person jobs.
No, usually just one membership account is best. If you are a two-person team, couple, or family traveling together and plan to apply to the same Employers at the same time, one account is all you need. A Workamper Pro membership includes access to our Resume Builder, which allows you to create a resume with up to four applicants.
However, if you plan to apply to different Employers separately and each want your own resume, then you’ll each need a separate membership account.
Please note: At this time, the daily Hotline Jobs email can only be sent to one email address per account. If you'd like your partner/spouse to also receive the email, you can set up an automatic email forward. Just search “how to create an automatic forward in [your email provider]” for instructions.
You can use your old account—and we prefer that you do! If you had a paid membership in the past, your account is likely still in our system.
Go to the Login page. If you haven't logged in since before summer 2025, you'll need to reset your password using the Forgot Password link.
If the site says “No user found with that email,” your account may have been removed, or it may be under a different email address. Try any other email addresses you may have used. If that doesn’t work, go through the Join process to create a new account—we’ll do our best to find and merge your previous records.
Still unsure? Contact us. We’re happy to help and typically respond to support emails the same weekday. You can also call during our office hours.

Employer FAQs
Recruiting and working with Workampers can be a very rewarding experience. Workampers routinely become "part of the family" at many businesses and come back each season or stay year-round! Besides performing the day-to-day customer service tasks, Workampers are renowned for a variety of skills and experience that can improve the bottom-line of any business. Part-time, full-time, seasonal or year-round, there are Workampers who can cheerfully and productively fill any need, from maintenance to management.
There are many Employers who do not provide an RV site as compensation. Those opportunities usually pay wages for all hours worked. If the Workampers you are hiring will need to find their own camping arrangements, it would be beneficial if you would provide them a list of the closest, quality campgrounds/resorts. Most RVers travel with a tow or towed vehicle and will have a method of transportation they can use to go to and from their work location.
Workamper News provides avenues for Employers to share immediate or future staff needs. The main way is to run a help wanted ad in the online Hotline system. You can get even more exposure by running a banner ad in our Hotline emails, presenting a Jobinar to our audience, creating a Featured Employer website page, or recording an episode of our podcast The Workamper Show. Learn more about our advertising options here.
If you offer an RV site in trade for all our some hours of work, that is a form of compensation. For-profit employers who offer RV sites, hookups and/or other perks in exchange for labor should be certain that their exchange is proper and fair.
The following formula can be used to determine the equivalent hourly wage. The value of the site (monthly or seasonal rate, not daily or weekly) including hookups and perks (if any) divided by the number of hours worked per month = equivalent hourly wage.
At the very least, the equivalent hourly wage should equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage ($7.25 in most states, higher in some states). If it does not, wages should be added, or the hours reduced. In most cases, Workamper News recommends a maximum of 15 hours per week in exchange for a full hookup site at a for-profit business.
In some situations, additional hours may be justified by offering additional perks, light duties and/or an exceptional working/living environment. Workampers at for-profit businesses should never be expected to "pay" more for their site than a long-term customer would be charged. Bottomline: If you want above average Workampers you need to offer above average compensation and working conditions.
Yes! Our Workamper Pro members have the option to create a detailed resume in our database. Employer Standard and Featured members can look at and filter the Resume Database on availability date, location, skills, and more! Plus, you'll find that we've taken out some of the leg-work for you by verifying the work history on many of the resumes.
It can be a bit strange to hire someone based on a phone or video call interview, but that is the primary method that Employers use to interview Workampers. We recommend spending at least an hour or more interviewing and getting to know a serious applicant. Email communication is not the best method as you do not get a feel for the applicants mannerisms, attitude, etc. Emails can be typed and re-written to sound the best possible and may not be the true reflection of the applicant.
If you've advertised with Workamper News in the past or someone at your company signed up before, you likely already have an account in our system.
Because of the way our system works, it's best if each company only has ONE account, so our join page will attempt to check if there is a matching business found and should not let you join again.
Go to the Login page and try logging in with your previous email address. If you haven’t logged in since before summer 2025, you'll need to reset your password using the Forgot Password link.
If you see “No user found with that email,” try any other email addresses your organization may have used. If you’re still not sure, go ahead and create a new account on our Join page. If we locate a matching previous account, we’ll merge it for you.
Need help? Contact us—we’re happy to check our records and ensure you're set up correctly.
