Use Referral Incentives to Attract More Eagles

by Greg Gerber

There’s an old adage that says, “Turkeys flock, but eagles soar” and that is certainly true when it comes to hiring staff.

As an employer, you encounter people of all types, especially for short-term positions, like Workamping. However, they all seem to fall into four categories.

A Proactive Employer's Recruiting Schedule

If you need Workampers for the SUMMER (jobs starting in April/May), begin your recruiting & advertising efforts in OCTOBER/NOVEMBER or no later than early January.

If you need Workampers for the FALL/WINTER (jobs starting in late Sept/Oct), begin your recruiting & advertising efforts in APRIL/MAY or no later than early June.

Abstract:

Workampers like to plan ahead, so begin recruiting 6 months prior to the start date of your job(s). Based on feedback from our Employer members, here are our recommendations. There is no guarantee these schedules will work perfectly as there are many variables, but Employers that are proactive and make a plan more often have an easier recruiting experience.

Doing the Math on a Workamping Opportunity

by Greg Gerber

Let’s face it. Understanding math can be hard. You have basic math where 2 + 2 = 4 and 8 x 7 = 56, but it gets increasingly complicated.

There is algebra when 6X x 3Y = Z. And, in geometry, the circumference of a circle is calculated by multiplying its diameter by (Pi or π).

With calculus, there are complex equations like limx→a−f(x)=limx→a+f(x)=limx→af(x)=f(a).
