Pennsylvania. Lake Heron Retreat, seeking friendly, reliable couple to help maintain our small campground and welcome guests. Private Christian campground on 10-acre lake in PA.  We will consider commitments for 6 months or 3 months. Job duties include cleaning bathrooms, privies, cabins, groundskeeping, enforcing rules, bundling firewood, and filling firewood boxes. Compensation – FHU RV campsite. Wooded site, water, sewer, 30 & 50 amp electric, trash, (no cable or WiFi) in exchange for approximately 3-4 hours per day, 4 days per week, primarily Thursday-Sunday with weekends being a requirement. USACE Holt Resource Office

Alabama. USACE Holt Lake near Tuscaloosa, AL, is looking for Park Hosts and Gatehouse Attendants to staff 3 different parks. Seasonal (minimum 90-day commitment) and year-round positions available. Positions are available at Deerlick Creek Campground, Burchfield Branch Campground, and Rocky Branch Swim Beach. Volunteers will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week and must provide their own RV. Schedule is 3 days on, 6 days off, or may be fixed. City of Riverbank

California. The City of Riverbank, CA, ia park host for Jacob Myers Park, a 55-acre park along the Stanislaus River. Volunteer position in return for full hookup. Stipend is provided depending on duties and site assigned. Duties include restroom cleaning, trail maintenance, litter pickup, monitoring of park rules, and capacity. USACE Englebright & Martis Lakes

California. Volunteer Park Host couple wanted U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Alpine Meadows Campground part of Martis Creek Lake.  Martis Creek Lake is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, outside the town of Truckee, California, 15 minutes from Lake Tahoe and 40 minutes from downtown Reno. Campground has 24 sites. Host duties include interactions with the public, cleaning and upkeep of the campground facilities, and maintaining and tracking campsite reservations. Also responsible for walking the campground, tracking occupancy of campsites, checking in campers, and answering questions. Approximately 20 hrs/wk/person. Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Arizona. Boyce Thompson Arboretum - Superior, Arizona. Education and Interpretive Host Volunteers needed for October 2020 - April 2021. Each person is required to volunteer 20 hours per week (40 hours total). Will receive RV site with FHU in exchange for their volunteer hours. Laundry on-site. Duties will include leading guided tours and school groups, event assistance, and other various tasks. 5 days on, 2 days off with one vacation week available. Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge

Tennessee. West Tennessee Refuge: Seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist in maintenance/visitor contact at Reelfoot NWR on Reelfoot Lake. Covered concrete RV pads, full hookups, including propane. 3-6 month stay. 24 hours/week. Duties vary upon season. USACE Kanopolis Lake

Kansas. Kanopolis Lake is located north of Wichita as well as west of Salina and Lindsborg, Kansas, along the scenic Prairie Trail Byway. We have 3 volunteer positions for the May to September season. The positions available are beach booth attendant, campground attendant, and campground maintenance. We ask that our volunteers provide 20 hours of service per week for a campsite with 50-amp hookups, water, and sewer. Iowa. Volunteer at Lake Red Rock. Workampers fill 32 service positions at Lake Red Rock in central Iowa. We are grateful to this diligent workforce for providing custodial service, campground hosting, environmental stewardship, and more. Enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational pursuits while providing essential public service at Iowa's largest lake. FHU site provided for seasonal service. Red Rock Ranger Dist / Coconino Natl Forest

Arizona. Sedona, Arizona. The Coconino National Forest, Red Rock Ranger District needs volunteer couples to live and work at beautiful Palatki and V Bar V Heritage sites. Asking for three-month commitment, working three to four days a week. Beginning May 2021. Work is a combination of inside and outside duties providing interpretation to the public about these archaeological sites with some light maintenance duties. Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife

Oregon. Apply now for late summer and fall Host positions for 2020!  August 30 - apply for 2021 Host openings! Consider Volunteer Hosting for Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW). Live/work/play at hatcheries, wildlife areas and offices all over Oregon. These are not campgrounds - most have limited public contact and most do not require cleaning public restrooms. Requires a self-contained RV and full hookups are provided in exchange for 20 hours each per week volunteer (unpaid) service. Volunteer for one or more months depending on host site. New Hosts: your first month is a trial service. Duties vary by host site season of the year and your interests. The position involves four 5-hour shifts per week assisting campers and posting reservations. A covered full hookup campsite with laundry facility will be provided. Utah State Parks

USACE Dworshak Dam

Idaho. Volunteers for USACE Dworshak Dam and surrounding recreation areas. Enjoy a season in beautiful Clearwater County, Idaho. The 717-foot straight axis gravity dam holds back the North Fork of the Clearwater River creating a 54-mile reservoir with plenty of recreational opportunities for everyone.  Looking for volunteers to staff the following positions: campground host fee attendant/host, maintenance (janitorial/groundskeeping), and tour guides for the visitor center.  We recruit volunteers year-round for the following time frames: from mid-March - May 15 and May 15 - Labor Day.  Can be flexible on the off-season dates.  Provided with a full hookup site plus other amenities. USFS Glenwood & Pedlar Ranger Districts

Virginia. Spend time in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mtns. Volunteers are needed April 1 - Oct. 31 for Sherando Lake Recreation Area near Waynesboro, Cave Mountain Lake Recreation Area near Natural Bridge, and North Creek Campground near Buchanan. Positions available as CG hosts, visitor center hosts, and entrance station hosts. Must provide own RV. Sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups. Minimum stay - 4 weeks. Vermont State Parks

Vermont. Vermont State Parks has Volunteer openings for the current season through mid-October, and will be recruiting soon for 2021! More than 40 different parks. Duties vary by park and generally involve grounds, restrooms, and fee collection. FHU or W/E available. Some parks located in more remote areas. Schedules vary. Cell phone, TV reception, and WiFi vary by park; pets allowed at most locations. Work 30 hours per week for campsite and many other benefits. Preference given to season-long commitment (mid-May through Labor Day or mid-Oct.), though some shorter stays may be available. Recruitment for 2021 begins October 1. USACE J. Strom Thurmond Lake

South Carolina. USACE J. Strom Thurmond Lake is located on the South Carolina & Georgia border. Our agency has a great opportunity for you to spend your fall/winter on beautiful J. Strom Thurmond Lake, Amity Recreation Area, approximately 9 miles north of Thomson, Georgia.  Volunteers will stay on-site and are required to work 34 hours per week, per couple (20 hrs for single folks). This area is semi-isolated. 90-day minimum stay required. Additional jobs available for the winter/fall season. Mostly outdoor work like under-brushing, painting, assisting Rangers, dock inspections, etc. The winters here are nice with lows in the 20's occasionally. susan.k.miller@usace.army.mil

USACE Wright Patman Lake

Texas. Volunteer park hosts needed at Wright Patman Lake (Corps of Engineers lake) near Texarkana, TX. Parks are Rocky Point, Piney Point, and Clear Springs campgrounds. A full hookup campsite will be provided (water, 50 amp electric, and sewer connections) in exchange for approximately 24 hours a week of park host duties. Park hosts will work three days then be off duty for six days. Duties include processing incoming campers (campers will already have reservation) and keeping track of park status. Montana State Parks

Montana. Montana State Parks, Find your place under the "Big Sky" and let Montana State Parks be your base camp for adventure. We are seeking energetic volunteers that will be good ambassadors for our state park system and have the skills needed to work with the public. Opportunities are available for couples or singles to fill our campground and visitor center host positions for our main season. Duties include light maintenance, assistance with the campground reservation system, fee collection, public contacts, and assisting with special projects. Training is provided.
