It is set in a forest of Douglas-fir and maples and is nestled at the foothills of the gorge. There are many trails and other recreation opportunities in the local area. Cave Tour Assistant (Local Commuting Area)

Date Added: 12/11/2019 Location: Middlesboro, KY Description: Gap Cave is located within the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park just inside the Virginia state line. The cave tour consists of .5 mile hike to the entrance of the cave, .5 mile hike inside the cave, and then a .5 mile hike back. Temperatures hold at approx. 56 degrees within the cave year round. Date Added: 12/11/2019 Location: Cascade Locks, OR Description: Eagle Creek recreation area is the first developed recreation area in the Forest Service system. The day use area is an extremely busy site, especially on weekends and holidays. The host must be able to interact in a friendly manner with dozens of visitors daily. The site has a historic flush restroom facility on site and is located among tall Douglas-fir and maple trees. Salmon viewing is popular in the fall.
