This special edition shines a spotlight on two key themes that have long shaped the Workamping community: solo Workampers and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

Solo Workamping: Independence on the Road

RVing is for everyone – families, couples, friends, and solos alike. This issue celebrates the freedom and independence of solo Workampers, featuring stories, advice, and insights from those who travel and work on their own.

In an effort to show solos that there are numerous Employers who will consider them for their opportunities, we are highlighting those Employers.  Help wanted ads that appear in blue text encourage solos to apply.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Essential Partners in Stewardship

For more than 20 years, Workamper News has partnered with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects to help recruit volunteers and paid gate attendants nationwide.

Each summer, we connect with USACE sites across the country to identify staffing needs for upcoming seasons. The annual USACE listing – included in this 200th issue – features both volunteer and paid contract gate attendant positions, complete with contact information for each project.

You’ll also find an article exploring what it’s like to Workamp at a USACE project, emphasizing how vital these roles are to keeping recreation areas open, clean, and welcoming for all visitors.

What’s Inside the 200th Issue

In addition to these special features, this milestone edition included:

  • Help Wanted ads for current and future seasons
  • Finding Joy & Freedom Workamping as a Solo
  • USACE – Highly Valued Workampers Making a Difference
  • Tips to Make Solo RVing Truly Spectacular
  • Benefits of the Workamper Lifestyle
  • How to Be a Successful Solo Workamper
