Big Rigs Best Bets Campground Directory
If you drive or haul an RV longer than 32 feet, then many campgrounds cannot accommodate your rig. After a long day of driving, it's no fun to learn that the park you selected can't squeeze you in either because of your rig's length or its multiple slideouts.
Eighteen years ago, full-time RVers Ken and Ellie Hamill decided it was time to do something to help other owners of large RVs. The result was their Big Rigs Best Bets campground directory, which lists parks throughout 49 states and eight Canadian Provinces that eagerly accept large RVs. Remarkably, every park listed in the spiral-bound guide has been visited personally by the authors to ensure the information is accurate.
Specific campsite suggestions are mentioned for most parks. So, you'll know before you arrive which sites to request. Upscale resorts, overnight stays along the interstate, destination parks and suitable public parks. Each park listing includes specific site numbers which we suggest you reserve or ask for at check-in. Every site listed is a pull-thru, has 50 amp electric and is FHU - unless we state otherwise. The various lengths of these preferred sites are also noted along with other details including WiFi.
Precise and detailed “dead on” directions from an RVer’s point of view. We have personally driven the routes – say “good-bye” to frustration U-turns. For the convenience of GPS users, the park’s physical addresses are also included. Time to fuel up? No surprises at the 720 paved and maneuverable fuel stops which we have personally used or observed.
Don’t overlook the 340 notable restaurant tips. Special Alaska Highway Section. A variety of establishments they have personally experienced and recommend for your enjoyment.
Eighteenth edition - released in 2018. A user-friendly guide – lays flat, quality paper and large print. 500 pages. Written by Ken & Ellie Hamill.
